Hummingbirds Posted by: timvid
Video duration: 188 seconds http://www.WildlifeT heater.com High quality video I shot in my back yard of ruby-throated hummingbirds hovering, eating, fighting. Features lots of slow-motion shots, and includes a Nessus Sphinx moth, an insect that's often confused for a hummingbird. When Green Tree Frogs Attack! Posted by: timvid
Video duration: 61 seconds http://www.WildlifeT heater.com Yes they're cute. But they've also got to eat, and they're pretty good at it. This video features slow-motion replays and a "frog-leg breakdown"... for absolutely no reason. Dragonflies Up Close Posted by: timvid
Video duration: 32 seconds http://www.WildlifeT heater.com Take a look at the unusual faces dragonflies make. None of these clips have been "doctored", just slowed down because each "move" takes only 1/4 of a second. There are more videos like this on my personal website. Hope you enjoy. Juncos Scratchin' Posted by: timvid
Video duration: 61 seconds http://www.WildlifeT heater.com The Dark-Eyed Juncos are back for the winter. Sometimes they eat from the seedheads of plants, but usually they forage on the ground. In our flowerbeds that are covered with mulch, they kick the mulch back and look for seeds or insects on the ground. This video captures some of their behavior. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks. I'll chekc it out. I've been considering getting a camera that takes HDV and have been leaning towards Sony's consumer line.

Not "3.5 inch", but (three) 1/2-inch chips instead of the more common (three) 1/3-inch chips. Professional cameras use (three) 2/3-inch chips, so my camera is in between consumer and professional, often called "prosumer". It's the JVC GY-DV500.

3.5 inch chip?! Clearly a professional camera.

The Wing Sounds video is shot at a shutter speed of 1/60, so the wings are just a blur. The other videos where you can see the wings when they're slowed down were shot at 1/2000th, which unfortunately is the fastest shutter speed my camera has. My camera has 3 1/2-inch chips, as opposed to the more common 1/3-inch chips, which helps make the image and color sharper. Thanks for your compliments, and I'm looking forward to checking out your hummingbird videos as well.

I do that too (in Pinnacle), but yours is much clearer as if it were shot at a higher frame rate.

I'm not recording in slow motion. I slow it down after the fact.

I see on your web site that you are recording in slow motion...as opposed to video editing to slow motion after the fact. What camera do you use.

Hey. Really cool video and apparently no telephoto tricks either---you would have to be close to get that loud of a recording. Sound was great. I've done a few ruby throated hummingbird videos you may want to check out, but mine are not as brilliant as yours.

When I was eight, I caught a hummingbird in my hands (Very slowly) and was shocked to find out it had real wings... not bee-wings like I thought it would...
