I think what separates Gwen for others of her era is that she worked hard to earn her stripes and the music is the key to her success. Edgar Winter had another great group at the start of the '70s, White Trash--more of a Blues band. I saw them perform in '71 or '72 with Mandrill also on the bill. His brother is Johnny Winter (saw him perform in '73), a great Blues guitarist who is still out there touring. Johnny is also responsible for greatly reviving Muddy Waters's career in teh '70s by producing and playing on a couple of great records for Muddy in the last years of his life. I love this drama. Beautiful story, beautiful music, beautiful sceneries & two great stars, Choi Ji Woo & Bae Yong Joon. Both won the best actress & best actor on this drama. The great news is that they will voice over the anime version of the continuation of Winter Sonata. I think they are the best drama couple. Thanks to them the Korean wave started when WS was shown all over Asia.

thanks for the musicology lesson. I am however a trained classical musician myself, and a musiclolgist too, and i do know the difference between dissonance and constonance, i also know that the microtones NK is playing are just a result of sloppy playing. I heard him play the Beethoven concerto back in 1987, before he discovered punk sensationalism. back then, he played beautifully. now, he's just like the 3 tenors...in it for the money, not the music. but if you like it, that's great.
