heh, geddy had a hell of a time getting alex to sing some of the background vocals. Alex didn't want to. Until the last few tours the only backup vocals you heard were overdubbed. Then when I saw the Counterparts tour they did Closer to the Heart and Alex started belting out the end part where the title gets repeated. He sounded just fine! It was awesome, everyone went nuts.

If you think Neil Peart sucks, then you know nothing about drumming! He's been listed as one of the top drummers for over 30 years! And if you think his drum solo is the same over and over, then you know nothing about Rush. His solo from Exit Stage Left is different than the one (The Rhythm Method) on A Show of Hands, and his solo at the 30th Anniversary Tour was completely different from both of them. And he may have a huge setup, but its what he does with it that makes him so amazing!

I don't know too much about Geddy Lee. On "Rush in Rio" his bass-playing is easy to hear even to those who lack a musical ear; it's very prominent. Some of his solos include Driven (very short on the record, much longer in Rush in Rio), and Don't Touch That. And your welcome for not being condescending. You can believe anything you want. The guitarist has some amazing solos that you can check out if you want like the one from 2112 or my personal favorite the Villa Strangiato solo. Peart has more than one solo, so you are simply misinformed there. (O' Baterista, Des Trommler, Rhythm Method.) His set is the size of my house, thats tru, but if you've ever played his music trust me there's more to him than that. He's a great drummer, in my opinion at least.

Alex Lefeson hurt his finger because he had a very wild night with his wife,
his finger came between the mattress and the bed.

Yeah, that white 355 is a sweet guitar. That's the one Alex had custom made for him by Gibson ~ 1976. I remember him saying he almost cried when it was delivered and he opened up the case & saw it for the first time. *laugh* He was so blown away by it. He's gotten some amazing sounds out of it over the years. IIRC, he used it a little on "Moving Pictures" as well, although a lot of that record was done with his Strat. To my ears, his stuff on "The Camera Eye" sounds like the 355.

No, it's not an ES-350. The ES-350 looked more like a jazz guitar, with a larger tailpiece, P-90 pickups, a different pickguard and different fret inlays. The semi-hollow body was a lot 'thicker' too. The guitar Alex is playing here is either an ES-335 or 355. I think it's an ES-335.
