I saw them twice during the early 70's that band kicked ass! West was one of the greatest guitar players and had one of the best guitar sound ever in rock. Bands just don't sound like that anymore, soundmen have too much control for most bands to play with abandon and volume like that nowadays.

Um it's not really a love song. He's keeping this woman captive on Skull Crusher Mountain. His "assistant" found her and brought her to him. Yes, he's in love with her but she is NOT a willing participant. Hence the screaming and her trying to get away. (He reminds her that there are wolves and other things outside his hideout ready to eat her). It's kind of the most un-lovey love song there is.

The guy who died was the keyboard/Bass player for the band. He was called William Sinnot and he didnt drown on the coast of tenerife. He drowned at La Gomera Which is another one of the canary islands. He was only 30=[ The original name of this song was "Pro Gen" Type Pro Gen into youtube and this video will come up.

It was 1991. The guy who did bass for the group died in Tenerife where they were shooting this vid. He drowned. The band carried on. He was a Scot, too. Can't remember his name... I think the song originally had a different name but they changed it after that guy died.

According to BLACK MOUNTAIN, their influences are Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, which is exactly the three top ones I would have guessed. You can absolutely hear all of those elements', plus their own creativity's, influence on the music.

Nice surprise! Found myself back in the 60/70ies with elements of Led Zeppelin, Joan Baez, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Far East Family Band, Pink Floyd, 13th Floor Elevator, Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane, Ten Years After, Neil Young, Mamas and Papas, Steamhammer and more.
