There is no bridge solo on this version. Plus, the main solo is wrong note-wise (completely) as well as being in the wrong key and with the wrong guitar. (Ed played it in G on a Strat, Gary is playing in D with a Les Paul.) Granted technically Ed was wrong (the song is in D) but that is the sort of quirky magic that made Skynyrd who they were. Not bad other than that those points (I like Allen's solo winging at the end after Billy's piano solo) but Ed's absence is glaringly evident in spots.

I wasn't joking about Ronnie. I met him and the band when I worked the stage crew at the University of Kansas back in the 70's. I worked a lot of shows back then and Skynard was the ONLY band that came around and personally thanked the student crew that set them up and packed them up after the show. Everyone else (Beach Boys, Chicago, Yes, etc.)arrived at showtime, played the show, then split without saying a word to the people who worked so hard to make it happen. Skynard was a class act!

It is interesting to watch Allen work out the ending solo...it is somewhat different than the recorded version (which was done in 1976) which means he had not worked out the set in stone version for the song yet. I like to call Skynyrd the "Beatles" of the American South, simply a great American treasure. My biggest problem is that the band died in 1977 when Ronnie (singing here) died and the "new" Skynyrd is nothing but a tribute band with Johnny who is not a great singer (adequate at best). The original band was incredible though and will be missed greatly.

I saw Skynyrd before they had a record deal and they were great and I saw them about 20 other times before the plane crash and they were always great performers with, and this is the key, great songs.
