It's funny why some people get so defensive about the question if Amanda was really born a man. The fact is we don't know the real truth about Amanda but no-one knows exactly where and when (s)he was born and nobody has seen pictures of Alain/Amanda as a child. The earliest sex change operations happened in the 30s, so of course it could be done in the 1960s. I love Amanda all the same whether she was born a man or not but I don't see the reason to deny it if she were. She is a fabulous woman.
