You know, this actually has a lot of applications, although at first it seems kind of useless...you could communicate with your neighbor visually, for example..you could use less paper for reminders...anyway, what would be even kooler is if there was an optical application, such as a pair of sunglasses or maybe even nanotech contact lenses which could act as receviers from a remote hard drive and could display information in front of your eyes??? idk...theres sooo many uses, dont doubt it.

the answer is a qualified yes. While there are a set amount of drum patterns, the combination of using the arpeggiator coupled with the variations created by the touchpad give the illusion of nearly infinite choice. Alternatively there are patches containing single drum sounds, and in theory one could build up beats by layering drums individually in the loop(not the easiest thing obviously). Remember though that all this hard work ends up being disposable as there are no save functions.

I've had mine now for maybe about a few months if not more. same with the Korg Mini KP pad. If you don't have the Korg mini KP-pad, you should get that. Its amazing what that can do when hooked up to the Kaossilator. The effects are amazing. The looping, the gates, cuttin in/out, fadin in/out, sound waves. Awesome.

Thoughts - there is one thing the Pocket PC can do that the iPod Touch cannot, and that is be used as a removable flash drive. Given the fact that there is no external card slot, the fact that it cannot be used as a flash drive I think is a draw back when looking at the iPod vs. the Pocket PC. Of course the drawback for the Pocket PC phone devices, particularly for people with visual conditions, is the fact that it has a much bigger screen and is 100% contract free. :)

Well...if you're JUST using it as an audio/video player, no, the iPod Touch would be a better overall player (though it's not expandable of course - the iPAQ is). If you want to add in the contacts/calendar stuff, and use third party software, the iPAQ 100 is a great choice. - Jason

Yeah, the quality sucks - my source h.264 file looks fantastic, but YouTube is stuck in 2006 with their low-res, low-bitrate encoding. I'm really, really hoping that since the new version of Flash supports h.264 in Flash, YouTube will start to support that - which will be a quantum leap forward (at least, I hope it will be). - Jason
