I picked up the instructional DVD's from the website and they are high quality productions with slow-motion clips, great audio, and articulate direction with notation as well. Highly recommended!

i have just been playing for like three days and i got down like 90 percent of Knockin' on heaven's door (GnR version). Personally i think its a nice song to practise as a beginner. The chords are: G D Am C The solo is:(NB string are numbered 1-6 from the bottom up)its the picking pattern-pick in the order below G-1232 D-43211232 C-54341232 C-54341234 and it repeats it self. Depends on what you want to learn. They are right that it would be a better base to learn off acoustic, but it isn't that big of a deal. But if you're like me and don't have any money to spare getting another guitar a few months down the line when you want to play metal music, I'd recommend electric.

if i had it to do again, (buying my first guitar, that is) i would buy an archtop, or acoustic electric. you have some of the tone of an acoustic, and the option to plug it in. get the best you can afford without buying something that is too nice to play. keep it out in the room you hang out in the most, dont put it away in a closet. then play it every chance you get...

acoustic guitar is harder to play, but if you practice that first, then it will make it easier for you to play an electric guitar, so I suggest that you go for an acoustic for starters. But still, if you start with an electric, I wouldnt be much of a problem.

Hi, It depends on your interest. Acoustic is a great starter cuz the srtings are tougher so you build your calluss faster..then you can moveo n to electric.. I just got started a month ago on acoustic! And I tried playing the electric for a bit..it's easier on the fingers :) Hope this helps

I've heard that if you tug on the bottom of the guitar with your picking arm while doing a barre without your thumb it'll work... I've tried it a bit and it kinda works also most Barre's can be done as a four finger open chord so try look at variations... I use 4 finger open chords to do A shaped barres cause my index is bent too much to hold an A and do a barre... e.g. XX4442 for a B chord, look at chord triads and such and try find out ways around it imo

hmmm.. if you're new to guitars, I personally recommend that you try to be left handed, so that you get to use you right hand on the fretboard. and if you're really new, it's gonna be easy. it has nothing to do with whether ur a lefty or a righty in the other common things. my cousin and I are both rightys, but he plays pool with his left hand cause that's how he started, and me personally.. if you must know, jerk off with my left hand way easier lol.. so its all about how you start.

Please don't encourage the leads to pull and push the ladies around. It's a bad habit and very unpleasant to dance with. A good lead can lead through the legs and that is what prevents toes from getting stepped on.

This was a little different than what I learned last month. I think we did a rock step, then 4 to the left, 4 to the right, rockstep. Then the leader spun the follower the first time and my right hand met with her right hand, then we rockstepped, 4 left, 4 right, spun her again. This time my right hand took her left hand. But this was still a nice refresher course for me.

Very true, but the better you get the more you can do in a closed position. Then again there's always the choice of dropping down to open just before executing the move. If you do it right it looks to be part of a combination move as opposed to a lead in.

the count is the same its just in half time. (ie the your 1, is their one two. your 2 is ther 3 4, and your back step is their 5 6, same idea just differnt numbers.) and it can be done in closed or open, or both, in that you can simply release the girls back and come down to her hand for open. Hey Joseph, I don't know exactly what the problem is, but truth of it is, you need to spend some ungrateful hours first, just learning how to do chords flawlessly (open ones at first, then barre-chords when you build up strength in your hand), before moving on to strumming lessons like this one. Don't get discouraged, it's largely a question of practicing regularly / being patient. Otherwise, thank you so much rock-on-dude, I'm realizing I need to work that right arm more, and this is great...

well mmthjove the easy way to think about it is do the strumming without the chords first the once you know the pattern add in 1 chord so you dont switch yet then when you got that just switch from two chords that are easy to switch betwwen like g major to cadd9 then once you got it see if you can do the switch to other chords hope that helps :)
