To complain about how much better a band's old music is to their current music when they've become more mainstream I feel is fairly narrow minded. Bands grow and so do their music. They've come a long way over the past years, they've experimented a lot and they'll keep growing and changing over the next years too. You can't always be "stuck in the past". That goes for any band really and that's why they're so fun to watch and listen to. Because they have the ability to move forward.

What's the main diff.? just the knobs? All im really lookin for is roll (note repeat) really. I not really concernd' wit knobs 2 much. But how do the banks feature work on the MPD? Do you assign samples threw the AKAI software, or do you do that threw PROtools, Logic, Reason?

you can use your PC or headphones directly from the EWI. It's best to have a small amp though. You can even use those little speakers that are made for iPods. I use these when traveling.

It's easier but different. Easier in that you don't need the lip that you need for Clarinet. There are no reeds to deal with no mouthpiece setup, just batteries. The octave shifts take time to master but it's easier than playing over the break on clarinet. The fingering is it's own or a sax style fingering that is easier than clarinet. It plays in all keys. There is a key transpose button that allows you to set it in any key. It defaults to C.

In the 4000's there's a built in synth, so all you really have to do is plug it into an amplifier or headphones. It emits a MIDI signal, so it might work with Finale. I don't exactly know Finale well..

No, I think that we're talking apple/orange here. Have you heard the Birthday Concert (Jaco) when Brecker takes 5, 6, 7, 8? choruses in "the Chicken" and then Mintzer stands up and you're thinking... "How can he follow that?!? Two tenor solos in a row?" And Mintzer brings a whole new, fresh approach!!! Wow, what a postlude to Brecker's improvisation! Mintzer is for REAL! He's no Michael for sure, but Michael was no Mintzer. The two can exist equally significant in my book! CD

it is terrifically difficult to get the bends and slides clean.. but again, practice practice practice. The patches aren't as good as they could be.. they need some tweaking. But, i still prefer the 4000s to eariler models, it plays much smoother.

It is a hard instrument to play WELL. :-) Since there are no keys that go up and down, you ahve to have accurate technique, or else your playing sounds sloppy. Also, changing octaves smoothly takes lots of practice, and lots of folks out there aren't practicing enough. ;-) Mintzer has it down quite well.. he's the man.

I used Powerdirector, a Cyberlink program. Although I've used it for some time now, I'm still learning new things, such as the photo panning. Let's see, I think it took around four hours to record. Although, we took a lot of that time to try to set up and get costumes situated. It's hard to say how long the editing took because I took lots of breaks, and had to start all over when I had almost finished because the file became corrupted! We're going to keep trying to improve!

Thanks for the critique. It's true that she didn't know the lyrics all that well, so I'm going to try to work with her more on that for the next one. Also, i hate to make excuses, but none of us have danced before so this is something new for all of us. We're going to keep trying though! : ]

Will someone put that love song on please? Brief reminder; Apple was in love with a guy named Rick right, an old flame she ran into in an episode. That particular episode was where Apple declared her love for JJ, and a song was made just for the moment. Will someone please post that song! I saw this movie on an independant channel in Chicago about 10 years ago. It was one of the first animes that started my obsession. This, along with Dirty Pair, Vampire Hunter D, and Fist of the North Star. I always wanted to see more, but it was scarce in the U.S. I hear. Sadly, most anime nowadays don't have that special spark that makes them appealing to me.
