Yes, it's a great pic- they look both mournful and respectful, a perfect image of how Mel Blanc fans like us feel.

You will also never find a racist jerk like me!! I'm a Hells Angel and I sell drugs to teen agers. I'm also a cop hater!! >>You will NEVER find another Mel Blanc, the best ever. And although these were cartoons, they ere NOT for kids, most of it was adult "inside humor",which gives them immortality.

Mel Blanc did the voice of Elmer Fudd after the death of Arthur Q. Bryan. Mr. Blanc was a genius. No one since then has even come close. Although, I give credit to Seth MacFarlane. He does some great voices on "Family Guy".

I wouldn't say that "What's Opera Doc" is overrated, because I think it's very good, but I'll agree that is IS overhyped. (Slight differnce. :)

alexrogan1: Sure, we all watched 'em as kids, but in the 1930s, '40s and '50s, most cartoons were not intended as strictly children's entertainment. Not even Disney's. Ask anyone who was making them then---well, most of them are dead now X[ Chuck Jones, for instance, flat-out said "We never made them for kids. We made them for adults, and for ourselves." But at some point, animation became stereotyped as kiddie entertainment, and it's still shaking that off to this day.

What characters did he NOT do? Let's see: Elmer Fudd (voiced by Arthur Q. Bryan), The Three Bears (Billy Bletcher, Stan Freberg and Bea Benedaret), Granny of course (Bea Benedaret, then June Foray), and some others that I can't think of at the moment.
By: Marbles471. on 10 Nov 08, 08:02:35
Actually, quite a few of the things he says here aren't the way they really happened---I get the feeling that they're the PR department-approved versions of events that they think sound better to the average audience who might not be interested in the real details of how things were created and developed over time.

Too bad the clip shown had to be Whats Opera doc because 1) IMO it's terrible overrated (was a Daffy fan myself) 2)Arthur Q Bryan was Fudd.:)

I loved Looney Tunes. I've checked the American shows/cartoons for kids nowadays, and they're all really... stupid. Like Lifetime Junior or something.
By: alexrogan1. on 25 Oct 08, 01:20:20
I completly disagree with the person who says looney tunes are not for kids. They are a heck of a lot better than most of the stuff (keeping it clean here... hehe) that's on now days. I loved these as a kid and because of the subtle adult humor in them I still love them. Of course it helps if you like slapstick too.. hehe. It's also one of my fondest childhood memories I share with my 2 brothers and dad. We all used to gather around the TV saturday morning for the bugs bunny/road runner show.

Well mel blanc created the best Cartoons EVER, and they will be golden cartoons FOREVER, especially tom and jerry :D, but in the end of the video its pretty sad to see that its obvious they only care about the big money, they always want to make more and more and thats all its about...

By: artist4ever25. on 19 Sep 08, 19:17:42
Oh my gosh! Amazing! The master at work. Mel Blanc is my inspiration for doing cartoon voices. It's so amazing to hear him do all the voices on the spot like that. They all sound completely different. It's astounding! I wish I could've met him. We miss you Mel. Thanks for everything.
