Canon S5 IS video test Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 176 seconds Testing my new S5 IS camera. I find the video mode to be quite good. Image quality for still shots is fine as long as ISO is less than 400. Above that, its pretty much unusable but I have a 20D for my important shots. Related: canon, s5, video Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment Latest comments made on this video:

PC noise test Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 431 seconds Tested noise levels of my box with the front cover open and closed. Note that for standard measurements, you should measure at 1 meter but I measured at a very close 5" because the meter doesnt read below 50db. Moving it to 1m would cause it to register below threshold for much of the testing... Home stereo walkaround Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 118 seconds Taking a closer look at the stereo I've cobbled together over the years. Amp is a Threhsold SA3, Preamp is a Soundcraftsmen pro-control 3, DAC is an MSB, CD is a Yamaha and network player is a Squeezebox. The speakers at the moment are the modest but amazing Usher S520. I still have my older celestions though :) ... but they are not good enough anymore as my main set of speakers. Flip Video Ultra camera test Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 171 seconds Neat camera for a low price. Only a couple complaints. Colours are washed out somewhat when lighting is kind of low but its still crips without a lot of pixelation. Oh I have not found a way to edit any of the vids. Maybe vista64 and it are not getting along. This vid is totally unedited. Q6600 vs dual dualcore xeon 2.66Ghz - how do they stack up Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 128 seconds This is not a bash video or a challenge vid. Emeek posted a vid where he was running cinebench but without the timer visible. I stopwatched the event and tried the same to see how my Q6600 would stack up. Very similar results. Guess Cinebench is not very memory bandwidth intensive since the dual dualcore xeons should have more mem bandwidth. Cinebench scores do not vary based on resolution. You can run it at 800x600 or 1600x1200...wont make a difference in rendering time or score. Also I'd hope the Q9300 is faster. Its newer, runs at a higher FSB and a higher clock speed.
By: c3h89. on 24 Oct 08, 02:15:27
Wow, my q9300 is faster... No, really But, 800*600*8 = 3,840,000 Calculations (Height*Width*Depth)
By: svtcontour. on 09 Oct 08, 18:43:55
Because you watched only the first benchmark which is a single core test. 2nd part is a multicore test.
By: snopocatepetl. on 09 Oct 08, 17:52:43
why does your system only use one of your 4 cores?
By: svtcontour. on 22 Sep 08, 19:11:43
Thanks about the PC. It can run OSX86 if I dont use the 15K SCSI drives and just run normal sata drives. PS. The CRT does not have shitty refresh. Its the way the camera is viewing the CRT. Its got rock solid 85Hz refresh at 1600x1200. All CRTs have flicker or scan lines when viewed through a camera.
By: LeodimeII. on 22 Sep 08, 18:57:50
Is that a CRT monitor? The shitty refresh hurt my eyes :( Though that's an awesome PC you have. Can it run OSx86?
By: svtcontour. on 09 Jul 08, 12:36:38
Definitly. It was always some some friendly debating and nothing personal.
By: bongman4ghz. on 09 Jul 08, 07:25:23
i gave you 5 stars. i hope wee can put this behind us.
By: svtcontour. on 09 Jul 08, 01:45:01
Huh? The whole thing is a benchmark. Thats what the '1 CPU' and 'x CPU' are for. Those show the single cpu and multicpu performance. Higher numbers are better. Below that area, it has the OpenGL benchmark. Higher Scores are better again. In my video, when it zooms in at the begining, it shows single CPU score of 2827 and multicpu of 10001. OpenGL score of 5380.
By: bongman4ghz. on 09 Jul 08, 01:39:31
i have downloaded cinebench. it doesn give scores. so its pointless. you cant compare our cpu,s
By: svtcontour. on 09 Jul 08, 01:37:38
Show me proof that its German. Also Cinebench is gay to you because your AMD crap is slower at it. Oh by the way Cinebench is a real benchmark for a real application called Cinema4D. So are you going to quote or link anything that shows AMD is German?
By: bongman4ghz. on 09 Jul 08, 01:22:45
your such a muppet. AMD IS GERMAN. SHOVE YOUR GAY CINEBECH UP YOUR ASS MO FO. you know jackshit.
By: svtcontour. on 08 Jul 08, 17:14:55
Sorry..wrong. AMD has a German plant, but they are an American company. You're just a retard thats all. A really dumb retard too..not just a run of the mill one. Wikipedia - "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) (NYSE: AMD) is an American multinational semiconductor company based in Sunnyvale, California"
By: bongman4ghz. on 08 Jul 08, 15:25:21
AMD is german. you fucking retard. everything you just typed is bullshit. i give up trying to advise you. you fucking monkey.
By: svtcontour. on 08 Jul 08, 15:23:13
Ya what ever buddy. You're just a bitter person with a chip on his shoulder...thats all. Also speaking of contradiction. You said "americans are scammers & intel are american so work it out". Do a bit of googling before you run your mouth. AMD is American too. How old are you, like 15 or something?
By: svtcontour. on 08 Jul 08, 15:18:57
Ya because all of our 6 Q6600 boxes we've had running now for nearly a year are just overheating here at work. Yup they are just boiling over. FYI 65C full load temps on stock cooler is well within spec for Intel OR AMD chips. Might sound hot but we're not designed to withstand those kinds of temps. The CPU is. Running it at 55C instead of 65C is not going to do it any favors. Its still going to last an easy 5-10 years or more at those temps. We use our boxes to host VMware clients.
By: svtcontour. on 08 Jul 08, 15:15:21
It doesnt matter slice it. You can play around with it all you want. You can go one all you'd like and say its not a true quad core... Doesnt matter. Its a pair of dual core CPUs in one package. That for all intents and purposes is 4 cores. Those four cores are faster clock for clock than AMD's true quad core options. Thats all that matters. Infact. I couldnt care less if there were four turnips inside of the chip. If it can processes fast and get the job done, thats what I care about.
By: bongman4ghz. on 08 Jul 08, 08:48:42
evryone one of your posts are total bullshit. i think you contradicted yourself about 3 or 4 times.
By: bongman4ghz. on 08 Jul 08, 08:46:24
am sorry to disapoint you. they chips still overheat. the contact with the stock coolers & the cpu is fucked.
By: bongman4ghz. on 08 Jul 08, 08:44:02
listen man. thats not quad core you dumb ass bastard. its 2 physical cores & 2 logical cores. thats why is called a ( core 2 quad ) because it only has 2 physical cores. i know what intel chips are man am not trying to start any shit. americans are scammers & intel are american so work it out. i know very much about they chips. i know the facts. and there is no QDR shit either. your real fsb is your internal clock.
By: svtcontour. on 08 Jul 08, 03:36:04
How does "my 4200+ is faster. thats a dual core chip. dumbass." all of a sudden turn into "what i meant to say was that Q6600 is not quad core." after I ask you to post a vid? Lastly, it IS a quad core. Its FOUR CORES on one CHIP. Now you may want to say its not a TRUE quad core because each core is not independant, then thats fine. Its dual dualcore on one chip. Whatever makes you feel better. Its still surpassing most AMD quads and its nearly 2 years old. I've tried an AMD 9500 BTW.
By: bongman4ghz. on 08 Jul 08, 02:12:43
what i meant to say was that Q6600 is not quad core.
By: svtcontour. on 07 Jul 08, 19:22:37
Have a video? Would love to see it. My baby sister has the same computer as you. LOL. She's using the Asus M2N-E. Its ok I guess. Her 4200+ is about on par the old E6300 intel. So are you going to post a video?
By: bongman4ghz. on 07 Jul 08, 14:58:15
my 4200+ is faster. thats a dual core chip. dumbass.
By: svtcontour. on 25 Jun 08, 18:39:00
Sorry for the horribly long blurry video. I wanted to do the whole test and not just the multicore render.
