He's not quite as good at it...it seems more mechanical than musical, and he only repeats each call twice instead of 3 or more like the mocker. But still neat to see and hear! Video duration: 35 seconds Noticed this little guy as I was birding around the LSU lakes last Sunday. Something struck me as odd..and then it hit me --he has no tail! Don't know if something tried to get him or if he is just going through a very efficient (and dangerous!) molt. He is a juvenile Brown Thrasher. It's a boardwalk at a nature center. There is a pair of Barred Owls that nest and hang out there. They don't seem to be too worried about the two legged visitors!

Nice owl. Owls have incredible good eyes so they can see fishes and other things in far distance.
