Excellent Video! Most of my family is there but I moved away many years ago. I am a sick man, because I moved to Government Camp on MT. Hood in Oregon. Last winter I had over 658 Inches in my yard collectively and up the hill about a mile, the season total was 859 inches! More shoveling than any one person should have to go through in a lifetime... Our average is about 500 inces a year.

i am proud to be from WNY! this is nothing... ive been through worse than this lake effect snow... we all have from buffalo and the surrounding communities..people dont know this but alot of the surrounding areas can see more snow sometimes than buffalo! either way, its beautiful to sit home and see it fall no matter how fast it flies!

Wow. I've been living in Arizona for six years now. I never thought that I'd say that I miss the snow in Buffalo, but I do. I miss the hell out of Buffalo!

Because water has a high specific heat, it changes temperature slowly, so in the winter, especially early winter, it is warmer than the surrounding area. When a band of snow moves across it, the warm lake pretty much fuels it and gives it more to dump (thinh like the way the warm ocean builds up a hurricane), and when it reaches Buffalo, it snows a ton compared to a normal front.

i live in buffalo and you know its snowing hard when you stop your vehicle in white out condition and put your foot on the ground just to make sure your still on the road let it snow jan 30 08 5:01 17 degrees near white out conditions 60 - 70 mile winds awesome

I live in Buffalo, it's EXACTLY like this every winter. One year we got hit really bad in the middle of October (suburbs lost power for a week). Whoever wrote the song "let it snow" obviously never lived here. "Mad world", however, is surprisingly fitting.
