Thank you for watching. I agree with the slowing down part. I can get really fast kniting this way.
By: ravensky23. on 29 Oct 08, 04:13:19
It's a lot faster. I'm editing a new knitting video, but it's going slow because I haven't been feeling well. But coming soon!

Thanks, I love these needles, I use them all the time.
By: Leslie38Leslie. on 28 Oct 08, 04:11:20
That is gorgeous. BTW that's the way I learned to knit and the only way I can. I've tried to do what I see other people do - just slows me down.

I've seen left handed knitting in books but it is interesting to see it done. I've heard that it is faster to do it this way, but when you learn the other way it is hard to change.

i think the needles are from knit pick's, i have the multi interchangable circular needles. i also have there metal ones which are a heaven to use. get knitted in the uk have them, very resonable price too.

I think it's easier to watch someone knit to figure things out, that's how I learned to knit. I tried books for years to no avail!
By: DanceExperiment. on 12 Apr 08, 00:16:25
beautifull needles :) i guess i'm an english knitter but i finaly understand, your explanation of left hand knitting is easier to understand then those yarn booklets and magasines

If you go to knitpicks(dot)com and click on "needles" you will see their "Options" needles. I have both the metal and Harmony Wood needles. The cords come in all different lengths so you can change them as needed as you project grows. I just love them. Not sure what you mean by "prongy things". I would love to help you and be your private tutor, but I think the commute would not be practical. But I will help you in any way I can!
By: tunisianswife. on 12 Feb 08, 14:47:54
oh golly, will you come over to my house and be my private tutor? Gorgeous. When you say the knitpix round needles are interchangable, does the cable thingy also epand? I hate having to change to longer round needles. My technique so stinks watching this. And also, I'd be interested in how you interchange the colors when you use this block chart. I end up with little prongy things in my chart patterns.

I'm knitting around the opening for the neck right now. By this coming weekend I may be ready to cut! Then start the sleeves. At least I think that is the order. I'll have to check with the pattern again when I get there.

Thanks Dame Edith! I love it. It's my other addiction besides YouTube!
By: realnutty01. on 30 Jan 08, 05:23:37
The colours are looking great together. You made it look so easy lol. You have been busy.
By: ravensky23. on 30 Jan 08, 05:09:57
Thanks, Liz, after hours of knitting (on the weekends sometimes 8-10 hours a day!) my arthritic hands ache. You would be great at 2 color knitting because you can keep one color in each hand if you knit both ways. It goes faster, they say. I never learned "English" knitting, so I have my own way!
By: ravensky23. on 30 Jan 08, 05:06:55
I'm finding it harder to keep the tension when knitting with two colors at the same time, which is how this is done. I know it looks like lots of colors, but if I was using black and white you could tell it was two. The fact that this is rainbow colored make it look like more colors are being used. But this is the first time I've tried it, so it will get easier...I hope ;-)

Your knitting is so beautiful.
By: thizizliz. on 30 Jan 08, 01:54:35
Way cool = thanks for the close up. I used to knit that way and for some reason stopped. Now I do the type where you wind the yarn around the needle with your right hand. So if you knit for several hours you can be sore on the right and not on the left side. I should try continental again.
By: maiyana45. on 30 Jan 08, 01:25:40
You really are a fine knitter! I used to knit years ago, I know how difficult it is to keep the tension the same. :)
By: ravensky23. on 30 Jan 08, 00:31:41
Thanks very much! I sure hope it fits me when I'm done. That's always my fear, even when I'm pretty sure I've done the math right!
