Aboriginal Climate Change Posted by: pktheunbearable

For the past 30 years, "several" oil fields have been found? Saudi Arabia will peak in about 10 years. They have the largest supply of oil in the world. To say several oil fields have been discovered to last 200 years, that translates into 6 trillion barrels at current consumption rates, not taking into consideration future increase. Current proven reserves are estimated at between 800 billion and 1.2 trillion barrels. You'd think something like 6 trillion barrels of oil would hit the news, no?

I already have.... China knows what the powers that be are up to. They have been buying up everything that they can get their hands on to stock-pile. It's not just oil either....

even if all Iraq's oil was available right now it will only stave off the inevitable for a couple of years. asia is consuming oil faster than the USA. Research it

Check out Lindsey Williams on Alaska/Gull Island.... Even recently on the main stream media it was reported that only a fraction of the oil has been produced from Iraq so far. Right now, the major oil companies are bidding on extracting more of the vast resource there. The problem, is that the amount of refineries in the U.S. to produce gasoline/diesel have been cut in half since the 70's. There is plenty of oil, we just need more refineries to produce it. It's nothing secret, research it!

M. King Hubbert is a geoscientist that worked for Shell and had predicted the peak oil curve for the united states and when you overlap what he predicted with what was collected they are almost identical. The global prediction is now following that same curve. I don't think that june knows how much we consume and depend on it right now

june201955 - How do you know they've found enough for 200 years? Just interested. i'd like it to be true.

This is a bunch of BUNK! For the past 3 decades, they have found several new oil fields. Enough to last for over 200 years. They capped them, waiting for prices to rise. Just like they did back in the 70's. Remember when gasoline was 36 cents a gallon in the late 60's? And by the mid 70's it tripled in price. People accepted it because of the inconvenient long lines at the gas stations. After prices leveled high, then there was plenty again, no more shortages until now. Hmmmmm...?
