Great video! The farm across the road from me had bison but I never saw the bulls perform like this. His yearlings got out one year, down the road and into my property. Took us about 3 hours to get them back home. Unlike cows, they scatter all over the place and they don't quit running.And not even a fence will stop them.

Yea your right but you have a chance to hurt a mountain lion with human stength and scare it off. A bear on the other hand cannot be injured no matter what you do try with human strength. I would much rather face a mtn. lion. Either would suck though.

My guess is that there's still a lot of snow up there. I went xc skiing near Shadow Mt...a little farther north of there, and the snowbanks at the side of the road were about 4 and a half feet tall. Do you horseback ride in, or ride ATV's or do things the old fashioned way (feet)? Do you get in the big line the day they open up the refuge road?

I think it's between the two of them on the national forest---you just have to wait til they open up the refuge so you can access it-You can't actually ever hunt antlers on the refuge,just drive through it about 10 miles to get to the forest service land--Thanks

I know what you're thinking! You're ready to go antler hunting! Well, I don't know if you can go out there yet or not. I don't think so, but that's 'cause it's probably closed still. I imagine the snow's pretty deep, but those elk on Tuesday in the river were the first I've seen that far north. The snow's still deep even though it melted a lot this past week! Are you thinking about near Curtis Canyon, or near the Gros Ventre Slide?

Bison are quick and powerful. While a pissed-off bull will stamp or dig with a hoof, a pissed-off bison cow (I haven't pissed-off a bull) will stamp BOTH FRONT FEET. It's so sudden and heavy, ya gotta pay attention! In a classic fight between a HUGE domestic bull and a buffalo bull didn't take very long. The bull charged straight on. The bison bull sidestepped and used the domestic bull's weight and intertia to open it up nearly full length. Short fight.

There was a petting zoo that used to have adult bison in it. Until it lifted a man on top of the tree. Bison is very strong. All it did is lift its head up a little and he goes flying up.

A young grizzly is attracted to the shore of Yellowstone Lake by the scent of a deer carcass. A dark male grizzly dragged the deer to the shore after finding it on the nearby road where it was struck by a car. The dark bear has already eaten most of the deer but has no intention of sharing the leftovers. However the smell keeps drawing the young bear back hoping to find a scrap left behind.
