1. "Cause" can be a countable or uncountable noun. In the text, I use no article because I mean "cause" as in REASON/ MOTIVE. This is correct and in accordance with dictionaries. If I slipped an article in there while speaking, it was unintentional, but not considered a grave error. 2. "From ocean to ocean" or "from coast to coast" doesn't necessarily imply movement. Such phrases can be used to describe how widespread something is. In this case, the reference is to a population of people.

Let me make myself clear. That compassion for Native Americans is fake even though those people like you who have these compassion and really think their compassion is sincere. It is on the subconscious level: people won't do thing against their own interest. You feel compassion because you want to feel better. You have to judge each person's sincerity case by case. You certainly have reason to be skeptical of apologies when given by polticians, but believe it or not, there is compassion today for the Native Americans who suffered in the past. Even so, the sad truth is that I don't know any country where the indigenous people have a higher standard of living than those who settled there later. Pauses in the right places (for example, at commas and periods) sound just fine. Pausing in the middle of a phrase creates choppy (not smooth) speech. It's natural to use "filler" words like UM, UH, and OH when you're searching for something to say, but it does sound worse in more formal situations such as a job interview or a speech. Hmm for me, beach is an area, no a point. In Polish we don't have word "at", everytime we use "in". I'm not sure, but in and at can show a meaning of the sentence. e.x. I think using sentences about superstition has a advantage even if you don't believe in superstition, the pros is that it helps you understand people who believe in such things, thus, increases your opportunity of making new friends, new mates, ...also I think its hard to ask for the what any think is idealism in everything, since each person only knows about part of this huge world of cultures and diverse people, we can't ask the teacher for good example, voice, content, accuracy, ... regards

Point taken. Thanks for the feedback. :) One challenge with this format of teaching is that I cannot engage students in discussion. General and detailed comprehension checks are doable since I can provide answers in the video. I can ask thought-provoking questions, but I won't be able to evaluate your answers. Nevertheless, I'll give some thought as to raising the bar for questions. More inference questions are possible. Hope you'll continue to watch.

Excellent lessons, but maybe you should reword the questions as they are just testing recall, eg "what made the greatest impression on Jennifer?" all i need to do is rememeber/recall some words you said before this phrase, not the most challenging for an advanced learner!! Great work though!!

Good question. I've heard and seen both, but here's the interesting thing: song lyrics, blogs, and other informal contexts of language tend to use "personal". Magazines (like Forbes) make use of the one I consider correct: "personally". (Don't take it + HOW? = adverbs answer HOW?)
