Also the definition which deserted had copy and pasted wasn't the full definition: "A pattern of change in which the amount of change that occurs in a quantity during a small interval of time is proportional to the amount of that quantity present." That's actually a correct definition of exponential growth; mine was wrong but I hope it gave you a simple understanding. My example is still correct however.

An exponential rate of change is rate of change which increases. An example would be the reproduction of bacteria. You start off with a single bacteria which reproduces and you get 2. Those 2 then create 4. 4 creates 8. As you can see the more bacteria there is the faster the rate of reproduction.
