Excellent! I love your clarity. Your approach to Chopin is similar to mine. (speeded, aggresive yet clear). Authentic to the young Chopin that was establishing his own terf amoung other contemporaneous figures like Liszt. Check out my interpretations of other similar romantics..Rodney Mills.

EXcellent! Again, as I commented on La campanella, you have at times a loss of momentum before climaxes. This mars an otherwise excellent performance. As Horowitz always said (paraphrasing now) "every note must be felt as if it is driving toward the end". That sense of onward inertia is what I think you should be working on. Bravo!!!

This is tremendously refined. I would have preferred it to be more intense and dramatic at times (it sounds a touch thin in some of the biggest moments), but the sound quality may be taking the fullness out of the sound. Very good.

The main issue I see with this piece, is that you let the tempo sag a big too much in several places - this causes a serious loss of developmental tension - often where momentum driving toward a cadence is most needed. Also, I think your performance would benefit from applying more energy - I know you have it in you. This piece requires, as you know, intense involvement. Bravo!!!

You played that quite well! Fugue sometimes a bit hasty, but phrasing is clear. And why do you play the final bars of prelude AND fugue restrained, piano, not forte? To me that seems not a logical thing to do musically.

However, I can understand that the emotion that is meant to be evoked is one of desperateness and fear which together are making the character feel emotional and expressive and torn apart and over all sad.....Now am I correct or not? Thanks for the vivid insight. I might postpone playing it for a few months. To help my understanding, I am going to attempt to rephrase what you said, and please tell me whether I am wrong or correct: This piece depicts almost insanity from the prospect of coming to end of your life and seeing that you have nothing but despair. Correct or incorrect? I think I have seen Russian dancing before, I just cannot recall exactly where. Thanks again!
