*Continued* It also produces a sense of self reward, so consequently, its quite common for people to go to McDonalds after work, school etc because it creates an artificial feel good factor, but realistically, who feels good after eating a McDonalds? It just makes you feel sluggish and depressed.
By: XxXLinziMichelleXxX. on 18 Nov 08, 15:11:15
Also, in McDonalds they have foods such as burgers come in packaging. By doing this they are creating the idea that what youre buying is a gift, so idealistically, when you unwrap the food, youre subconsciously reminded of the favourable childhood memory of opening gifs on Christmas day [thats the link with why they give toys in happy meals too].

Very simple. Operant conditioning. Stop wasting your time no need to argue with IAMSound7 you are 100% correct
By: IAmSound7. on 16 Nov 08, 14:25:04
What I'm trying to say is that even if I want sex, I don't automatically hump the first female i see.Surely commercials could consciously or unconsciously make you want something and make it harder not to eat, but they can't stuff the food in your mouth. Every kid has to be told they can't have anything they want. Nobody should allow themselves to give in to every single urge they might have. Maybe you are right, but if everybody would do what they'd want, the world would look very different.
By: InSaneTK. on 16 Nov 08, 00:12:16
You certainly haven't studied psychology, or observed peoples action, interaction with others and how they respond to stuff. Sex is not triggered by ourselves CONSCIOUSLY, it's a biological impulse that can be provoked by very simple means such as imagery and words. Even with will, why is it so hard for some to stop smoking. If you think we have a powerful will then you are frighteningly mistaken. Example; What kind of mask did/do you wear when your at school, no free will there.
By: IAmSound7. on 15 Nov 08, 12:52:25
i agree advertisements tease us and give us alot of thoughts, but the actual eating or sex or any action, can only be triggered by ourself. with enough will, advertisements won't have any effect. i do agree that that will is very hard to create.
By: InSaneTK. on 14 Nov 08, 21:08:58
But they obey what is "trend". If an older person (that is not their parent) do something, they want to do it too. Everyone knows this is true. Why the hell do you think McDonalds have a clown as a mascot? Why is it called "HAPPY MEAL". What about their TV advertisement "Mc Donalds, I'm, lovin' it"
By: InSaneTK. on 14 Nov 08, 21:06:12
And just how much can advertising affect your mind "IAmSound7"? A lot more then you think. If your a guy I bet you easily pick up a magazine with a less clothed girl on it then one with a picture of a tree. Or a magazine that has "SEX" on the front page, or "SHOCK" "SEXY" "DISTURBING" "NUDE". Why would anyone choose these over others? It's because they are being brainwashed to do so, on adults the word "sex" is the key to trigger interest. Almost all magazines have "SEX" on the front page.

people are weakminded givig into ideals becase they are lonly or scard and want somthing to help them throug it
By: phycokilla13. on 12 Nov 08, 23:39:44
your right people do have free will but the weak minded rel on somthing to give them comfort the word here is willpower
By: IAmSound7. on 12 Nov 08, 13:03:06
this video makes it sound like people don't have a free will and are slaves to their emotions and the advertisements are to blame. wake up and just stop eating.

By: Demondestiny0x. on 10 Nov 08, 03:57:44
sure they have no will of their own at some age, but sooner or later there gonna start rebeling. then they do crappy in school and get into trouble. Putting them in their room all the time isnt gonna do anything exept make them hate you

well i dont let my kids run my life like so many other parents. I treat them like... well kids. If my kid whines and begs for something i just laugh and say no. I they want to act like a brats well then they get no TV for a week. Its a pretty simple idea. They have to learn they cant have everything they ask for.
By: go656. on 09 Nov 08, 01:18:11
kids have plenty of will, they do disobey there parents you know
By: blueblade50. on 07 Nov 08, 11:35:39
happy meal my arse
By: evice. on 05 Nov 08, 04:34:04
lol i like your parenting skills
By: JackSmith07. on 03 Nov 08, 21:42:40
who cares if your kids beg. Just laugh at them and put them in their room for a few hours. Kids have nothing to do with this, they have no will of their own. jeeesh do i really need to explain this?
By: lukeeeboy69. on 02 Nov 08, 09:48:30
its the parents fault, they buy the food, but the kids want it beacuse of clowns and toys
By: mitzdasmovies. on 02 Nov 08, 07:33:34
the kids beg there parents for it coz there is a bright coloured clown or coz u get a toy with the meal..
By: JackSmith07. on 01 Nov 08, 22:59:04
furthermore, your premise is flawed. Children do not buy food. Parents buy the food for them. So all the clowns and playgrounds in the world will not "trick" a child since the child does not pay the tab. Now if the parents are dumb enough to feed their kids transfatty fast foods because there was a "brightly colored clown" involved, well then those parents were too simple minded to begin with (and hence ought to be executed)
By: JackSmith07. on 01 Nov 08, 22:50:11
buddy you had me until you said "behaviors are based on emotions not logic" LOL think about that for a minute. Behaviors? How can you make such a general statement? Behaviors are based on both logic AND emotions, depending on the circumstances. Those who act on pure emotions are mentally weak and generally they are the obese ones. Those who act (behave) out of logic AND emotions are mentally stronger and can resist junk food. The enemy is our society. Our weak lazy good for nothing society.

the single biggest enemy of american health is the americans themselves. don't like being a fatass? stop stuffing your face. stupid americans
