I absolutely love this song. I heard it when I was around 10 or 11 (in the early 60's). I speak German and was actually born there and imigrated to Toronto when I was 7...I love Lolita's voice and this song is so romantic and beautiful. Hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I do...

I have Pet Clark 45rpm record of 'Downtown' (English version) and on MPS her singing 'Downtown' in French. I would like the German lyrics to 'Sailor' in German . I have the original 45rpm record in my collection. I bought it when I was a teenager kid. I'm 62 now and still apreciate songs of different languages. Every language has a rhythm and music is the common catalyist. Oh if we could sing to one another perhaps we could overcome the curse at the tower of Babel; hence babbling.

I could not believe my eyes when I heard Lolita sing "Sailor" and Ivo Robic" sing "Morgen" as well as "Rocco Granata" sing "Marina". I was searching for the lyrics for "Morgen" and came across these three songs. I have these three records on 45rpm vinyl. I speak three languages and enjoy these songs. I am looking for the lyrics for these songs. I have a huge record collection and many are in french. I rate these songs very good.

What is there about a Sailor and his Ship? Yes it was my first true love. This song tells it all of my teenage years going down to the Sea. My girl friend (now my wife of 50 years) knew very well that her only competition was my Ship. The Ocean still tugs at my heart strings, it will never leave me.

My favorite by her is a song called " Die Geschichte vom Seemann Jimmy Black " ( The story of Seemann Jimmy Black ). I believe the album I had it on was simply titled " Lolita " but not sure. If anyone has it, please post it if you can. Oh, it's done to the tune of " Drunken Sailor ". Thanks.
