I have a question about the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop 7. It worked fine in my old computer, Windows ME. Now I have to use it in **cough** Vista. What happens is when I start tracing the image, sometimes (heaviy on sometimes) the traced part will end abruptly for no reason and cut out a part I never intended on removing. Ever have that happen to you??

ctrl+shift+n for hotkey - New Layer. At your layer box, the one which only contains background in your case, there's an button for a new layer. Also, you can make one by going to the top to the Edit/Image/etc. buttons, one of them has new layer as well. Though the hotkey should be fine. Be sure to do Ctrl+shift+n though, ctrl+n makes a new picture instead of just adding an layer.
