In the dubbed version to spanish (Latinamerica), the aliens were not called "mysterons", but "los marcianos" ("the martians"). A very silly decition, as even kids in the 60's knew that there was not (and still is not) intelligent life in Mars. Some people is very unimaginative, I dare say.

The movie with Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman was the one thing you wouldn't think an Avengers movie could possibly be -- it was BORING! There was absolutely zero chemistry between the two stars. Even Sean Connery couldn't save this turkey. It's the bowler hat, you know. It takes a certain kind of man to wear a bowler. Patrick Macnee looked good in that hat. This was my favorite show when I was a kid in elementary school. I always liked the shows that got cancelled after one season or less. This show had a lot of problems, but it really doomed itself when it had Logan find sanctuary well before the end of the first season, and then he and his posse just casually move on because they are dissatisfied with what they find there. The search for Sanctuary was the series's raison-de-etre!

You're correct in that is the original opening for the series. However, the original opening for the pilot "The Night of the Inferno" actually occurred after West says, "Good morning, President Grant," when the planned title of the series was "The Wild West." It's actually a black & white version of the openings of seasons 2 through 4, with the same music and the "femme fatale" getting slugged.

The original "The Wild West" pilot opening and scene bumpers are included on Disk 1 of the Season 1 DVD set of "The Wild Wild West." Incidentally, "Jim West" in the pilot animation and 1st season opening appears much taller than the later seasons and resembles Clint Eastwood. That's because Eastwood was indeed CBS's first choice as a star vehicle follow-up to "Rawhide." When Robert Conrad walked in, however, in spite of his 5' 8" height, he was seen as a total natural. Eastwood headed for films.

I loved this show as a kid. Sure the premise was goofy, how could the moon travel so fast as to reach other solar systems in weeks or months but slow enuf for alien spaceships to catch it. But it had a great, great cast and probably the coolest set design ever made for tv.The special effects were real good too.I forgot how dramatic the theme music was. :) Doesnt the part where Barbara is turned toward the camera remind u of the credits for that Dune movie? Maybe they were Space 1999 fans :)

OK, OK, so everyone prefers Cathy Gale or Emma Peel. Tara was always my favourite, she had an irresistable innocent quality. Rather than karate-chop a bad guy, once she subdued them by hitting them round the head with her handbag. It had a brick in it. Priceless. Thanks for posting this!

Sorry to disappoint you but Linda Thorson was actually the most original Avenger's lady (compare Gale/Peel's styles, voice diction), and the show had the highest ratings and best musical scores. Tara was Emma's equal in looks, diction and fighting, she was just younger and had a different look which was valued most in Europe.

Yes, it was alot like Sliders. the show was based on different people from different time periods meeting in the bermuda triangle. every week the group would "slide" to different places. I was 13 when the show aired, & I think it was only on for a couple of years. lol, I had the exact same reaction. I forgot this show completely but loved it as a kid. I preferred Katie tho. :P Now blender1970 is probably right, the production levels were really really low for scifi shows on tv back then but while I may not remember specific shows I do remember it was fun to watch as a kid.Not everything has to be great, just taking a kid on a cool adventure is enough sometimes.
