The military they had then was subservient to Saddam and not the country of Iraq, Don't look now but the Coalition forces just turned another town over yesterday to complete Iraqi control. Now two thirds of the country is completly under Iraqi Army control. Nope the surge didn't work and all we want is to control their country for their oil. Get A flippin clue. Bring fact for fact. Yeah there Chosen Saddam was the Talibans biggest enemy so much that he invaded Iran and when he got his ass kicked there he invaded Kuwait for their oil there, and when he got his ass kicked he killed his own people mostly in the Kurdish area of the country. Nallright, You are correct, they have been fighting for thousands of years amongst themselves, I cannot dispute that nor would I. No, the answer is not simple, but my answer would be we leave when the Iraqi people have a military and police force built up enough to take care of themselves. No one wants to stay there forever, if we stay long enough for them to be trained though which doesn't happen on a preset date, they can handle it from there.
