Thanks for your note, and the best to your son. That's a great rating for any kid, and especially for playing a short time. My husband has a blog about the experiences of being a chess parent--it's called the 64 Square Jungle, and it's on a site called Journalspace. Good Job, chessmom64! A really inspiring video and what a great kid you have! I know exactly how you feel because I am a chess parent too. My son is almost 13 and is about 1600 (but he has only been playing for less then two years). Maybe will meet you some day at the Nationals :) Keep up the good work!
