I saw a few questions about books on Janis. Here are but a few: Scars of Sweet Paradise, Alice Echols. Love, Janis, Laura Joplin. Going Down With Janis, Peggy Casserta. Buried Alive in the Blues, Myra Friedman. Piece of My Heart, the Passions and Obsessions of Janis Joplin. All but one of them are great reads. The Peggy Casserta book is trashy and much of it is unfounded. Peace and happy reading, the books give much insight to her life and personality.

Great original material, great voice, great stage presence, and consistently tight performances - Chrissie and the band are real professionals, as well Chrissie herself being one of a kind. Gotta love her! In 1975, the were booked to play an outdoor concert at American U in DC, and the word got out - the big crowds coming in from the entire east coast forced the show to be cancelled - they were that popular (and I lived in DC, then, I was pissed off - no free show!)

i remember reading in an article years ago that chrissie considered the song a requiem for james. eight months pregnant at the time, she recruited one of james' favorite guitarists, billy bremner (rockpile) to play lead on the song, but i don't think the lyrics have a huge reference to james, though i could be totally wrong. they recorded this song and "my city was gone" as a single, then took some time off while chrissie gave birth. her and martin then got this lineup together you see here.

Zeppelin is touring again without Plant. I don't get what Plants prob is. A bit to much on his high horse, as if he is too good for that. It's great that they tour with Myles Kennedy, but it should NOT be called Led Zeppelin. If they put out some originals under a different name that would be awsome. If they just do Zep songs under Led Zeppelin, that would be really lame.

Not John but Andy Taylor give's this live version Union of the Snake a rougher edge, remember this was the time where Andy was turnning from a pop guitarist to a hardrock-heavymetal quitarist. Which I thought was cool cuz it gives the song a little more of a jamming feel compared to the studio version. Example, if you watch 59: to 1:06 you can see and hear Andy more aggressive and at the end there he uses the sway bar on his guitar which was not in the studio's version.

Its the power station edge to this and view to a kill, which sounds great live! i prefer duran kicking! yes simon dropped a note on view but other than that it was a brilliant performence of a band that had not played together for more than a year live! and yes simon is outabreath but can you imagine the nerves playing that gig with no practice:- Simon was just trying to hard!
