Flik and Nina on the roof Posted by: Avendasora
Video duration: 255 seconds These optional scenes are only seen if you've recruited enough characters in Suikoden II before the points at which they're scheduled to occur. There's really no relevance to the main plot of the game, but the scenes are cute, and offer a little extra bit of insight into Flik and Nina. Your right but I have heard the game did not sell well.... sadly that sucks. I am with you though on that

Yeah, that was Ashley. He wanted to let the Duke feel that he made peace with Sydney.
By: Sushiyo. on 04 Sep 08, 08:55:08
Not Rosencrantz...Guildenstern.
By: Sushiyo. on 04 Sep 08, 08:45:42
I prefer to think that was Ashley, not Sydney. You see Ashley enter the room, you see the camera from the perspective of whoever enters the room, and then zap, it's Sydney. We know Ashley can make others see him as an illusion. Besides, Rosencrantz took on Sydney's curse and then got killed, so the only person left with the family curse is the Duke. I know it's a little far fetched, but I like the idea of Sydney being alive somewhere.

They need to make a remake or Vagrant Story 2 its one of Squares best why not? Plus Ashley is cool.
By: Darkstorne. on 14 Aug 08, 00:09:44
If a prequel were made I would much rather have the focus on Sydney, and not even touch on Ashley's story. Was there another with the 'blood sin' before Sydney? How did he aquire it? What went on between him and his father? So many questions that a prequel could answer =P Of course, a sequel on the ps3 would also be awesome, but they have a high standard to live up to. Expanding on this currently perfect game world would be a veeeery risky move.
By: Darkstorne. on 14 Aug 08, 00:01:37
I'm not entirely sure, but I have an idea. 1) Sydney was his 'secret' son, destined to protect the power of darkness from those who would seek to exploit it and become corrupted. With Sydney returned, and no power to hide any more, perhaps he had to die to further hide the secret of Lea Monde? And 2) Sydney was probably sick of life by this point. Who knows how long he was one with darkness? I think death was a welcome relief for him, and as much a choice as a necessity.

why did the duke have to kill sydney? :O
By: chimera1277. on 07 Aug 08, 01:49:01
until there's an official story of the game ur guess is as good as mine
By: chimera1277. on 07 Aug 08, 01:43:39
well in Guildernstern case he stole the right to inheret the Dark which makes him an usurper for Ashley the right was given to him that would explain the fireworks i guess by the way its me Umbra1277 now Chimera1277 just in case ur wondering
By: dagashi84. on 06 Aug 08, 17:46:47
Actually, I think that the storyline ended pretty much where it should have. It was a great story and it came to a really great end. Any other ending would have just ruined it in my opinion. But though I agree with darthgothica that a prequel would be amazing. I think it would also spoil an essential part of this game that Ashley's past is supposed to remain uncertain and foggy. All great things must end and I can't ask for a better ending than this one....
By: dagashi84. on 06 Aug 08, 17:42:42
True! Guildernstern looked really handsome and BBQ-ed after absorbing the Dark. But if absorbing the Dark causes Lea Monde to collapse, then it should have collapsed when Guildernstern absorbed it. The cathedral roof was later destroyed, but that was because of Guildernstern's doing not because he absorbed the Dark. Maybe two consecutive transfers of the Dark was too much for the Lea Monde to handle. haha, but that's just my guesswork. It's as good as any other.
By: dagashi84. on 06 Aug 08, 17:37:41
Haha, time travel, that's kinda big to swallow I agree. What I think is that Sydney is the elder son and that potrait was drawn before Joshua was born. I think that was a portrait of the Duke, his wife and SYDNEY not JOSHUA. Or that the Duke did not want people to know that Sydney was his son. That wouldn't have worked out well for his plans for Lea Monde and the Dark. But I guess your guess is as good as my guess though I wouldn't call it my 'speciality' :) Cheers!
By: dagashi84. on 06 Aug 08, 17:32:15
I think Sydney had suffered much for his father, the Duke's, cause of protecting the secrets of Lea Monde. Note that he has sacrificed his limbs for the cause. The Duke himself is aware that he has asked much of Sydney, thus he apologises to Sydney before killing him. With Ashley to take over his task, I think Sydney just wanted release from the dark. Note how his body turns into black energy when he dies and not remain a body like the knights early in the game. Well, this is what I think... ;)

This is probably the best game for psx I love Vagrant story and sydney is my favorite character in this game.
By: Umbra1277. on 21 May 08, 01:19:02
most of it i deduce from watching the games cutscenes its my specialty understanding the a games story some of it make sense heres one when you see the Duke's portrait you see him, his wife and his son Joshua if Sydney is his son why isn't he a the portrait could it be that Joshua and Sydney are the same try(time ravel!?) watching this ending again
By: Umbra1277. on 21 May 08, 00:57:23
regardless absorbing the Dark is dangerous if a person actually wants it well in Sydney's word it would suck his soul look what happened
By: dagashi84. on 14 May 08, 15:53:03
I beg to differ. The transferring of the Dark requires the sacrifice of a soul. When Guildernstern took it he sacrificed Samantha. I think ironically when Ashley took it.... Guildernstern was the sacrifice, not Lea Monde. As for why the city crumbles... Errrr your guess is as good as mine :P Probably just as an ending... kinda like the Resident Evil series... everything conveniently ends with a kaboom...
By: dagashi84. on 14 May 08, 15:48:56
Hey, Umbra 1277, is there a resource for the game's story? I understand that most of it can be understood from the game itself but you seem to have an extended version of the story. Is that your own personal concoction or is there really an official resource or a book?
By: Umbra1277. on 03 May 08, 10:18:09
ashley has gained power and immortality(reluctantly)but is doomed to wander endlessly to prevent the Dark from falling in the hands ofthose who seek power thus he is the vagrant
By: Umbra1277. on 03 May 08, 10:06:13
only the person who bears the rod inverse or blood sin may possess the power of the Dark what i know is that the Dark corrupts the person that is willing to possess it guildenstern wanted it badly and was consumed but ashley was reluctant to take it was not corrupted as for sydney ashley now protect the Dark against those want its sydney finally dies in peace
By: Umbra1277. on 03 May 08, 09:55:21
the Dark that powers the city has been absored by Ashley its the equivalent of a person losing their soul thus the city crumbles
By: Activestupido. on 07 Apr 08, 21:34:27
Why does Lea Monde collapse? I dont get it at all.
