Do even know who Chomsky is, you far right christian fundamentalist person? If America's is going to be attacked for having a pro-choice president, its going to be attacked by YOU or your friends, not an imaginary creature in the sky. Do you even know who Christ is?
By: Chiangmai007. on 31 Oct 08, 03:55:03
Chomsky rightly says that Obama's handlers have created a blank slate out of him. To air him as he truly is would doom him. When a political figure can actually support legislation that would deny survivors of abortion (they are called "babies" in some circles)the medical help needed to go on in life's journey, how can the US not be approaching the end of God's protection. Fear less a nuclear-armed rogue state. Fear more the wrath of God and watch mother nature.

Democracy and it's tenants is FAR LEFT of the Reagan and Bush Agendas. When we hear of Latin America leaning left we are talking about Latin America becoming democratic. Bravo! Evo rocks!

"If the US leaves Iraq, it will become a Wild West of terrorism and fanaticism" Actually, CIA and other intelligence assessments have pretty consistently predicted that US involvement would greatly increase the threat of terrorism and fanaticism. Most of the Iraqi population sees the occupation as the main factor fueling the flames of instability and conflict. Will Iraq be in ruins if the US leaves? Yes, but no more so than if it stays. Besides which, it has no business being there.

I'm from Bolivia ! There is a big change in the social economic spectrum down there. my fear is that the CIA will interfere somehow, and the corrupt elite of Bolivia will cooperate. Fortunately, through education I learned to deviate from my racist upbringing. I hope the best for Evo.

This is in reference to the Bolivian comment. It is great what happened there, and Bob Marley said it best. "A hungry mob is an angry mob" The people in the u.s. are not hungry for anything. Be it, Magna Carta, our political freedoms that have been ravished and taken away by the current administration. As long as people have there little materialistic items in there own little world, we will never fully realize a revolution

There was a girl named Jillian. Her parents left her at home alone for 3 hours. Each hour she recieved a phone call. It was a man and he just groaned then hung up. She got scared and locked the door. She decided to go hide in her bedroom. When she got there, there was a man hunched over holding a bloody knife. She screamed and then killed her. If you do not post this on at least 10 videos in the next 20 minutes the hunched man will come and appear in your room late at night one night.

I just wanted to add something: I think the US is doomed to stay in Iraq, regardless of what the public wants, and regardless even of how virtuous the future president elect might be. There can be no comparisons between Vietnam and Iraq. Iraq is HUGE; in both its political weight and land area. If the US leaves Iraq, it will become a Wild West of terrorism and fanaticism. Every person in that country has lost someone close to the war; they are mad with grief. This war will last generations.

why couldn't they portray al gore as a blank slate?, he's about as blank as it gets.
By: Jackisonfie. on 06 Sep 08, 02:41:28
Yes he was. His name is Avi Lewis. His father is Stephen Lewis and grandfather was David Lewis. Google them. Very important people to humanity. As well his mother is Michelle Landsburg and his wife is Naomi Klein. Fascinating family.

Ad hominem attack is uncalled for and ultimately discredits the clear thinking you have laid out here. I am particularly sensitive to this because I agree with the points you are making. I don't want these strains of thought associated with those who condescend and name call.
By: captaindiversity. on 02 Sep 08, 00:06:08
that's not even the question. the fact is that we ARE in iraq right now; we're not talking about what would have happened if obama were president back in the day. Neither candidate has the capability or desire of withdrawing from such a strategic and profitable base in the middle east, that's also a fact. dont believe the hype, skeffington.
By: SkeffingtonP. on 01 Sep 08, 13:05:01
Captaindiversity: Do you really believe that if a democrat were in power, say Obama that we would have gone into Iraq? And do you think we would have stayed there for this long?
By: captaindiversity. on 01 Sep 08, 08:43:37
not going to lie, you have a pretty dumb string of comments. just because people are smarter than you, it doesnt mean they're bringing down the blue collar. and instead of shitting out the worst smack talk ive ever seen, why don't you present your own views on things.
By: captaindiversity. on 01 Sep 08, 08:35:59
yes. it doesnt matter who is elected, we are staying in iraq; there is no way the united states would go back on it's imperialism. to the u.s., why give up a base in the middle east? chomsky is absolutely right, at least in terms of iraq
