Yes, Sweet georgia Brown is available on our CD : the Caribbean Suite , recorded in 2004. It is also a bass sax feature there. Kind regards, Bert Brandsma

P.S. Rollini was a genius, I totally agree! Also, Frank Trumbauer on C-Melody sax... They played their instruments better than anyone else.

really nice but it'd be better if the drummer played a combination of a second line feel and swing for the head

In other countries in Europe there are dixie bands as well. Two differences might be : 1. There are many bands in this country because it is possible to earn some money with this music here. Not that you rich but it attracts musicians to this style. 2. In the Netherlands we have very good internet connections. We live at sealevel, no mountains, so it's very easy to get all kinds of cables through the ground. So it is easy for us to upload a lot of things. Thanks for watching, Bert Brandsma

Love dixieland! One question though. Why do the Dutch seem to like it so much? Besides Americans and a very few brits all the rest of the dixieland bands I've seen are dutch.

Yes I know that recording. Highpoints in the careers of both Bix and Adrian Rollini.

What a line-up. Brilliant. Only time I heard a Bass sax played as good was by Bix and the Wolverines (At The Jazz BAnd Ball). Leaves Gerry Mulligan in the soup. Give us more.

If you look very close, you'll be able to see the clarinet in the stand, next to the alto sax. The clarinet player doubles on all reeds and had a feature for his bass sax in this one. There are other videos from this concert where the double bass is playing and the clarinet is used. Thanks for watching, BB
