By: holymonkey3. on 03 Nov 08, 21:39:42
if this is passed, i hope most confident linux users would form a community wherein people at home contribute to what has died. but this is so far off from happening (what i am talking about, not ACTA), but it could.

By: UbuntuLee. on 11 Sep 08, 21:18:04
Dude, just fuck off. Windows has over 1,000,000 lethal viruses and 1,000s of security holes in IE and Windows itself. You don't get viruses in Linux unless you file share with a Windows PC, and Firefox has 0 security holes as of now. I also think its funny how you point out porn so much. I'm starting to think your the one that looks at it.
By: mark11977. on 11 Sep 08, 21:15:47
u guys gotta see that windows isnt bad sure theres viruses. so wat? who cares u linux fags should just look at porn

Oh I was not really arguing, just trying to express my thoughts... maybe I'll just do a video later this week.
By: winconfig. on 14 Aug 08, 03:16:43
do you realize that we both agree with each others views, but we are disputing the very thing we are agreeing on...:) read up a little on a reply that i did to ubuntulee around the same time i posted my last message you responded to. No point to cause a head on colission when we are both heading in the same direction. :)
By: sunnz. on 14 Aug 08, 02:36:43
It is also Ok to restrict people from developing codes for Windows, should MS wish to go that far, they own it all... but they don't have any exclusive ownership over free systems such as Linux, no one does, not even Linus Torvalds, no single entity on Earth have the right to restrict the model free systems uses for its development.
By: sunnz. on 14 Aug 08, 02:34:19
That's totally fine, proprietary has its place, but so do open source... remember that free/opensource are copyrighted piece of work too, it doesn't make sense to protect one kind of copyrighted work by violating other copyrighted work, that is just contradictory by itself.
By: winconfig. on 14 Aug 08, 02:13:06
Thats not true. The market wont allow somthig as arcaine as that to be put into action. Take gas for example, people got pissed off and started to put pressure on congress to drill for more oil th help lower prices. though we havn't drilled just yet, prices have started to drop. Why ? Because the market ( americans ) got tired of the crap.
By: winconfig. on 14 Aug 08, 02:08:08
I agree to a point. I love my adobe products and my sony veas video editing suite. I put all operating systems on an equal playing field, but the monolithic rule microsoft has is absurd.
By: sunnz. on 14 Aug 08, 01:18:41
"find nothing wrong with having to pay for software. the best programs i have are on my vista machine." I just like to point out, as a programmer, I keep MY RIGHTS to FREELY develop software and release its code for free for ANY OS I want to. It is MY hardware, MY code, I'll exercise my rights fully as the owner of the hardware and my copyrighted work; and no one is going to change that.

Gimp and Firefox ftw!
By: wolffangalchemist. on 08 Aug 08, 03:34:15
money's already tight enough in the USA as it is with gas and the cost of living steadily rising this could in no way help.
By: wolffangalchemist. on 08 Aug 08, 03:31:45
AGREED! with out open source where would we be now? almost everything in proprietary software was derived from open software from IE's tabbed search to vistas 3d aero and macs multiple desktops. with out open source software proprietary software would eventually die too.(whether or not they will admit it.)
By: UbuntuLee. on 08 Aug 08, 00:56:22
i know :( but im sure Linux makes it. no linux = no internet as described by mryiu
By: COD4pwnnoobs. on 07 Aug 08, 22:52:01
this is no good. =(
By: sunnz. on 07 Aug 08, 14:52:32
So... it is really a double edge sword!!!
By: sunnz. on 07 Aug 08, 14:51:53
In that case, propriety software like Windows would be considered "dangerous" as well, by the very same logic... Remember that free software like Linux are copyrighted piece of work, should MS use Linux's code within Windows and violates GPL, that would be infringing the copyright of Linux developers across the globe. It would be "dangerous" because it is very difficult to reverse engineer Windows to find such violation, it is technically difficult and breaks the Windows EULA.
