A lot of bad was done by its presence. I can not beleive anyone could advocate a return to the USSR. With that said, I fully support a stronger Russia to keep US imperial interests at bay. The concept of the "balance of power" between the world powers needs to return. We can't have the two super powers of the cold war, nor can we have the omnipower that was the United States after the fall of the USSR.

The soviet union, for all its evils (and one can not deny that it did indeed commit many horrendous atrocities) did have an interesting artistic style. Very romantic and moving. I can see why many people living in those countries could have supported it. Its music is very moving and the artwork is quite motivational. The soviet musicians were quite skilled to produce something this good even with such strict restraints on their composing.
