Yesterday morning I got a bunch of shots of them crossing the ice on the Snake at Oxbow and playing, digging in the snow on the far side. I had to leave but returned around 3PM through Moose to see them in the grass right alongside the road at Oxbow. Got some very good shots of 399 and one cub, I think the male, on the hillside across the road from the Snake. I'll try to figure out how to post a few of them.

Thanks! I think it's funny that I live in a town full of serious photographers, and any time someone asks me what kind of camera I have...I have to look to see! i hear guys talking about their gear all the time. I always know it's a Canon Powershot... an A650IS. I really love it, even though it has a huge scratch right in the middle of the lens. I did that within the first couple weeks of owning it! I would recommend it to anyone! (the camera...not scratching the lens!) Have a great day!

They are around. My boyfriend saw two of the cubs yesterday chasing elk. They didn't catch any though. He got a great photo! The mom ran off the cubs so they aren't together any more...just two of the cubs are together now. The mom is still in the same area, and the other cub has taken off alone.

I was thinking about how big those cubs are all getting when it was really warm out, and I was xc skiing by myself the other day. I was wondering when (and where!) they were gonna wake up, and if I should start carrying bear spray around with me again! Hmmm...one can of bear spray vs. four bears...? Yes, they are gorgeous, and I have ENORMOUS respect for them. I can only hope they have the same for me!!!

Really!? They were grizzlies all summer long. The rangers called them grizzlies, the newspaper called them grizzlies. They're popular bears in GTNP. They were grizzlies two years ago. It's a mom and three cubs that have been in the same location for more than one year. When they attacked a man last summer they were grizzlies. I was across the road from her, safely in the car! These bears were around all spring, summer, and fall. They were easy to see from the road quite frequently! The YT Photoguide channel has more video of her and the cubs. Really cute!

All four bears have been playing and wrestling...Mom and a cub, and two other cubs...just a big ol' bear pile! It's really cool to watch them stand up and wrestle each other!

Yeah, it just means you get advertising on the side of the video. It looks like there's a wide array of types of music to choose from...it just feels funny to have to post the silent video first...before you can swap the audio. I haven't figured out how to do it any other way yet.

You should just get in the car and drive out some time! It is gorgeous, but impractical to live here if you're not Harrison Ford, or Dick Cheney. Many people that work in Jackson live in Idaho and drive Teton Pass every day to get to work because regular folks can't afford to buy here, or even pay rent in some cases. I remain poor but happy...at least all of this (above) is only five minutes down the road.

Yeah...I got invited to the ranch twice in one week for dinner! (usually I just go down to wash dishes to fill in for whoever has sprained their ankle...and they feed me then) But I got to go eat down there and not wash dishes...sheer luxury. The food is always awesome. There was a choice of scallops, chicken, ribs, or keilbasa. It was a cookout night. Crew gets in line after the guests and eats in the Crew Room, which doubles as a pantryl. It's cozy and rowdy at times!

Childhood Farm Memories

This used to be my grandparents' dairy farm. I spent many hours playing here. It's no longer a dairy farm, but they still hay the fields, and the barn hasn't fallen down yet. Some nice guys told me it was okay to go inside, with a warning to be careful not to fall through the hay chutes (which I'd been warned about a million times before as a child!) :D Hyde Park, Vermont
