Hey Derek I remember you. How've you been? Oh and Yeah. I'm most definitely using a chord book. That's how I learned the twelve chords I know how to play. And I'll keep that in mind man about varying my strumming but I'm still learning this is the first guitar composition I've written man. I didn't even think it was gonna be 7 minutes but a lot of my favorite Psychedelic Artist from the 60's did like 7 minute jams or longer.

Hey Sam, It's Derek Bever. I stumbled across this and thought I'd offer my comments. First and foremost, you're doing pretty good with the guitar. Are you using a chord book or anything? I'd suggest it. Secondly, considering varying your strumming, to maintain interest. Especially for a 7 minute magnum opus, yeah? Overall this is a pretty solid foundation for a first song. I can't even play and sing at the same time. Keep it up man! Music is about persistence as much as it is about art.

Yeah those are actual chords. I was saying that at one time I couldn't play guitar at all but then one day while looking in my guitar book It clicks in my head. One of the first songs I've ever learned how to play was an Eddie Cochran song called "Something Else" But I'm really glad ya like it.

if you're the singer, you should move to the centerstage. the singer is the most watched band member and if you're at the side the audience can't see the other guys without having to turn away from you. you could also try raising the mic so you don't have to crouch over that much. it would give you better stage presence and a more relaxed posture. I'm guessing you only played a couple of songs that night, but try singing for half an hour in that position! it'll kill you. keep playing!
