Not a climber myself but a geography buff and a fan of the sport of mt. climbing. So much about Everest but not enough information on the net about K2, which is five times as hard to climb. Thanks for the video!

The most dangerous 8000'ers in order of danger: 01. Nanga Parbat, 02. K2, 03. Manaslu, 04. Kanchenjunga, 05. Dhaulagiri, 06. K5, 07. Makalu, 08. Shishapangma, 09. Everest, 10. Broad Peak, 11. Lhotse, 12. K4. Feel free to differ.

annapurna is also very tough.. if it wasn't for the abruzzi spur very few of them would have reach the k2 summit. i think that both mountains are = tough, but annapurna has like a spell to climbers because of avalanches.

AS for the Everest it's quite well known that every whimp with a summary training and having enough money to pay a sherpa to carry him on his back & putting him on the top can reach the top of Everest . The Everest is the highest but also one of the easiest high mountain to reach .

the death tolls about Annapurna are basically uncorrect and wrong 'cos they're pure aggregated staths and not proportionally compared ( the most correct and scientifically checked ) . While only a few , the cream of top climbers try the K2 the mountain of the mountains, plenty of mountaineers make their attempts with the Annapurna. so they're really senseless and totally false death tolls. No doubt over K2 being the most dangerous & techinally the most difficult mountain of the world .

{Annapurna has a higher % death rate than K2 historically........I'm not sure that makes it tougher to climb though.} K2 is notable for its local relief as well as its total height. It stands over 3,000m above much of the glacial valley bottoms at its base. More extraordinary is the fact that it is a consistantly steep pyramid, dropping quickly in almost all directions. The north side is the steepest: there is rises over 3,200m above the K2 {Qogir} Glacier in only 3km {1.8mi}.........

K2 is the deadliest right now. Annapurna was extremely deadly before because of the avalanches, but it has calmed down. K2 is the most dangerous mountain we know of right now.
