The west wasn't quick to solely blame Russia and support Georgia 100%, only the USA was, especially the Republicans. But Russia is to be blamed for killing civilians too, and so are South Ossettian thugs. There are innocent and guilty individuals on all sides, and that's why the Bush administration/much of USA's typical "good vs evil" characterization is fundamentally not true, and therefore a dangerous one.

Do you want to know what's the motive? I think it was US trap to get Russia. They expected to get Russia to take Tbilisi and the pipeline in Georgia which is very important for Europe. It would be a very serious reason to get NATO to Georgia and begin a war between Russia and Europe. It would help USA to avoid of crisic and get a very good profit as they did during WWII. You know what. It's a great shame that the BBC chose to present false events on their 'news' broadcasts. Because they do know what's going on. But they often do this.
