Nope, their grayed out unless the 580exII is detected (ie It must be turned on) Though you can access the pop-up flash at any time.

O ok Sorry mate, I was bit angry at something else when i was saying that. Sorry. Can you do a video of like the controlls on the flash stuff you can do with it, I don't have a camera my self and love looking at the things. Heh heh. Thanks

Well... theres not really much to see there, theres other videos that show the 580ex II, or just Google image it. If you want to see the 40d controlling the flash in action, ...Its just the flash of the camera as it takes a picture. I wanted to show the user interface for flash control in the 40d, since there wasn't a video of it.
